Woodworking: Point Overlook Farm

We are proud to have partnered with Point Lookout for over 10 years. Our staff and Trainees loved having the opportunity to get out of the City and spend time at the farm. Over the year our Trainees worked on a number of unique innovative projects at Point Lookout:

• The design and construction of the garden area – which involved the installation of a split-rail perimeter fence, plus building and planting raised planter beds.

• A project we called the “Chicken Tractor” – which is an upgraded, mobile chicken coop. The Chicken Tractor is moved to a new outdoor areas regularly so the chickens can enjoy fresh spaces all over the farm while being protected from predators.

• Outhouse with composting toilet

• We also completed construction of a unique outdoor kitchen/pizza oven for to be used as a field trip destination where kids can get out of the city and get into nature to learn about farming and nutrition.

• During farming season, our crews worked at the farm to help cultivate and harvest the produce
