Lamar Harding, Instructor
Lamar comes to us with prior experience owning a home remodeling business and 10 years with local 413 Laborer Union. Lamar found he has the passion and skillset to mentor young people through his volunteer work at Ferris. In 2024 he decided to combine the love for his volunteer work with his years of construction experience and came to work at Challenge Program. As an Instructor, Lamar teaches vocational skills to our Trainees while working on real construction projects, like house rehabs. He builds soft skills and confidence by offering our Trainees ongoing guidance and support. Lamar is also responsible for managing the budget, materials and subcontractors to ensure each project his crew is assigned is executed safely and successfully. Lamar also performs valuable outreach and networking, to help generate opportunities for our Trainees.
