CP Furniture Gibbs Center

We broke ground in 2021 and in 2023, we started to transition from our ramshackle, proof-of-concept CP Furniture workshop situated squarely in a floodplain into our new, bone dry, 14,000-square-foot facility showcasing a timber frame skeleton which our trainees and apprentices helped to build. The new facility has more than tripled our floor space. A well-equipped wood shop, large metal shop and spacious spray booth allow us to take on more—and larger—projects. The addition of a sawmill and a kiln to dry wood means we can control every step of the process, turning a fallen tree into the live-edge slabs, boards, veneers and inlays we need to make our finished pieces. Most importantly, the extra space allowed us to increase the number of Challenge Program alumni Pre-Apprentices in the program.
